Franken Dislikes Hecklers

The trouble started when several supporters of fringe presidential candidate Lyndon Larouche began shouting accusations at Dean.

Franken emerged from the crowd and charged one male protester, grabbing him with a bear hug from behind and slamming him onto the floor.

Mental note: don't mess with Al Franken.

That's just Dean Anger-By-Proxy. You know, that Dean, he's a wild man. He has opinions, he's assertive, he gets enthusiastic. In the language of today's press, that means he's angry, out-of-control and psychotic. And now it's rubbing off on his supporters!

I like Franken's remark about the incident: "I would have done it if he was a Dean supporter at a Kerry rally." He says he's neutral in this race, but that kind of sounded like a slam against Kerry. :-)

(I can't believe Lyndon Larouche is still around! I can't believe he has supporters!)

Ah, yes. Lyndon Larouche. I myself have had several tussles, albeit verbal ones, with his strident supporters. I saw his minions in Harvard Sq. last year and decided to have some fun.

When I expressed surprise that Mr. Larouche was out of jail, having fraudulently used all those credit card numbers from charge slips found in trash bins, one of his people went a bit nutty on me, calling me a communist, shouting, etc. Not sure what the communist comment was all about.

Obviously, his dogsbody was not a member of a debate team.
