VGA Purgatory

So, anyways, (sic) we were in Windows Hell…

What does it say for an OS when you have all the video driver installers you should ever need, right at your fingertips, and you can’t get them installed on your goddamn machine?

Reinstalling the MacOS was never even close to this difficult.

When I’d resigned myself to some work, reinstalling Win2K from scratch on my Dell (instead of putting WinMe back on it) I was only worried about having to reinstall all my software. I never dreamed I’d be trapped in VGA purgatory looking at 16 colors for the rest of my life.

Thank Jobs that I have this Mac for backup else I’d be going insane.

Three words for you amigo:

Get Norton Ghost.

You can use it to image your hard disk after your install and re-config. Wait until you've installed all your apps and then use it.

This won't save your data but it should make system restores a hell of a lot easier.

I'll look into that. In fact, I might already have that, if it's part of SystemWorks.

Man, I just don't understand why people put up with that ms crap. Evryone I know who has one has had to do complete reinstalls, including reformatting, at least 2 times in the last year. They talk of it like it's normal.

I just don't get it. Oh well.

Windows sucks, pretty much. MacOS X is superior. However, since I have to test on Windows, I need a working Windows machine here.
