Morning Shotgun

Yes, it’s another edition of “Shotgun Post.” I have a feeling you don’t read my shotgun posts, so you don’t know what you’re missing.

  • If you’re as tired of “free registration” as I am, here is your remedy: BugMeNot.com. It will provide you with a login for different online newspapers right when you need it. Lazy people like me even have a bookmarklet option that makes it a snap. (Found at A Cry for Help)
  • Don’t eat mushrooms on Mars. This is why. (requires Flash)
  • A mechanism that can tell the differnce between lumber and your finger? That would be really handy in a table saw, wouldn’t it? SawStop technology is a boon to people who want to drink, take antihistamines and operate power tools.
  • This video shows some of what Sony’s latest robots can do. An amazing coordinated dance. (It’s a 6mb WMV file)
  • Don’t call him “sir.” The president gets testy whan an AP reporter makes the mistake of forgetting to use his entire title.“Who are you talking to?” There’s even an audio clip on Drudge. The press are the public’s only real access to the president. They are our surrogates, acting on our behalf. Bush’s feelings for the press are displaced feelings for his constituents. Voters: wake up and smell the contempt.

I wuv your shotgun posts Captain Burke, I'm just too boring to comment. I heard that audio clip of Bush by the way, what a wiener. The guy's clearly in love with himself. I remember awhile back he got miffed when some reporter said that the Schwarzenegger campaign was the "story of the year". Bush's retort made clear that the presidential campaign (HIS campaign) was far more important that Arnold's run for governor.

I think there were a few "stories" around that time that were a lot bigger than either of those anyway.
