Blast sparks impromptu show in Wellfleet

''Watching this was much more fun," he said of the impromptu show. ''Especially now that we know nobody got hurt."

Some natives were not as thrilled.

Indian Neck Beach is right down the street from my house. We walk there to go swimming. My mom could hear the explosions from inside the house so went down to see what was up. A friend of ours in Eastham could also feel the house shake from the explosion.

The police had blocked the roadway, but my mom, being the sneak she is, took a different way on the beach and got pretty close and saw them all go off. She was worried about fires, but they got it under control fairly quickly apparently. She said it was a pretty site. I'm just glad no one got hurt. And hopefully Wellfleet will have a more sucessful firework show later in the year. {All the shows in the past have just been fantastic!}

I escaped seeing any fireworks this year. They get repetitive. But somehow I think that they'll be talking about this summer's show for years to come.
