What's all the laughing about?

You’ll have to ask Bil and Steve.

But I’ll give you a hint. They’re laughing at the Yankees.

The only thing better than a Red Sox W is a Yankees L and when they manage to do it in humiliating fashion with Steinbrenner at the Stadium... Well, it makes it all that much sweeter.

Aware, as I am, that anything I may say that smacks of gloating or pride could bring down the Curse on the Red Sox with full fury, the Gods of Baseball will please note that I said nothing about how the Sox have been playing.

How tasty. How satisfying.

Here's a new word for all those NYY fans to learn:

n. a sound defeat [syn: thrashing, walloping, debacle, slaughter, trouncing, whipping]

Beware the humiliated enemy. (Just trying to balance the karmic scales...) ;-)
