From what movie did I capture the above image?
[read full entry for next clue.]
For the NON googlers in my readership, here I post the second image, a few seconds after the first. This might help a tiny bit. After lunch (around 12:30 EDT) I’ll post the third.

This ought to give it away:

Live and Let Die? (Wild guess due to Louisiana plate with 007 on it)
Posted by: Julie at September 21, 2004 10:04 AMDoes no one else have a guess? Not even to back up Julie?
Posted by: James at September 21, 2004 11:05 AMI was too curious and I cheated with Google, so I'll hold my tongue.
Posted by: Patti M. at September 21, 2004 11:08 AMYou don't have to back me up. You can say I'm wrong, too. Whatever.
It's a hard picture to make out, because it's so dark. I don't remember a scene in Live and Let Die where someone handles a license plate, nor can I remember why someone would do so, but again, it's just a wild guess. I don't have a great visual memory for movies. If the picture was of something really memorable, like Sean Connery hitting a spider with his shoe, I'd recognize it. But otherwise, I'm usually at a loss with this sort of thing.
Posted by: Julie at September 21, 2004 11:26 AMHrmmm. I dunno. Something that includes the south in some way? Mississippi Burning? Or cars? Cannonball Run? I think it might be an older movie from the date on the plate 72/73...
The 007 on the plate looks like a hint to me too... but I don't know my Bond movies well enough to guess.
Posted by: Chuck S. at September 21, 2004 11:28 AMI'm wrong. Damn!
I had another license plate movie memory, cheated and googled it... and I was half-right.
I didn't see that movie. Oh well.
Posted by: Julie at September 21, 2004 11:32 AMIt's not a Bond film, btw.
Posted by: James at September 21, 2004 11:47 AMNow that you've said that, I can compliment you on your fine choice of a red herring.
Posted by: Patti M. at September 21, 2004 11:50 AMNope doesn't mean anything to me.
Posted by: Chuck S. at September 21, 2004 11:56 AMHow about this?
Posted by: James at September 21, 2004 1:00 PMOkay, it's Jaws. I did see it. But the same license plate appears in a similar movie, which I didn't see. My fault for Googling and reaching the wrong conclusion!
Posted by: Julie at September 21, 2004 1:15 PMJaws it is! I have to be more careful about the Google-able parts of my images! Next time some gaussian blurring might be in order.
Posted by: James at September 21, 2004 1:56 PMAhhh... that's right they pull a license plate out of one of the sharks that gets caught.
