You Never Forget The First Time

“The first time I ever met you was when you walked on the stage tonight.” - Slick Dick Cheney Oct 5, 2004

Cheney is someone willing to make serious assertions and accusations with information that hasn’t passed the most cursory smell test.Take your pick, is he a slick liar or a sloppy and dangerous ideologue? Or both?

This is a clear pattern in the Bush administration. Arguments where the truth doesn’t matter. Certainty without facts.

I’ve never met you before tonight. Without a doubt there ARE weapons of mass destruction.

Photographic evidence? Damn, that was fast.

Trickie Dickie... caught again.

Is it lies? Or is it Alzheimer's?

A more difficult task: finding a photo of Cheney actually smiling. A grimace doesn't count.

Neither does this.

I think that's the relevant question: lying b*st*rd or doddering fool?

I think these folks rely on their audience never making it past the soundbite, so I'll go for option (a).

I'm not so sure I'm thrilled that they met at the "annual national prayer breakfast" I didn't even know we had one of those.

File under "Why didn't I think of that myself":

Someone wrote to the Globe today and compared Cheney to Old Man Potter from "It's a Wonderful Life."

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
