The Jim Carrey version. can’t say I liked it, but it was a visual spectacle. Here’s a schene where a Who is using a big gun to decorate her house with Christmas lights.
This is one of my favorite specials because of its simple but deep message. The scene depicted is Emmet taking the extreme step of putting a hole in the washtub to make a washtub base.
Everyone remembers this special for Heat Miser and Cold Miser. It’s not one of my favorites, but those miser brothers sure sing a catchy tune and so this special becomes somewhat compelling. They’re too much.
Picard is trapped in the Nexus where people experience perfect joy. His is a big, happy family he never had gathering (including his recently deceased nephew Renee) gathering around the tree at Christmas time.
A Holiday must-see. Goofy Clark Griswald and his hapless family weather the trials of Christmas in this National Lampoon goof-fest. Gotta love cousin Eddie. Ultimately, his heart is in the right place.
It’s the first HP movie. Not much here to distinguish between the first and the second, except that for the first they used more of these long shots to show off Hogwarts.
It’s Christmas in Heaven, all the children sing. It’s Christmas in heaven, hark, hark those church bells ring. It’s Christmas in Heaven, the snow falls from the sky. But it’s nice and warm and everyone looks smart and wears a tie.
It’s Christmas in Heaven, there’s great films on TV. The Sound of Music twice an hour and Jaws 1, 2 and 3. There’s gifts for all the family. There’s toiletries and trains. And Sony Walkman headphone sets and the latest video games.
It’s Christmas, It’s Christmas in Heaven. Hip, hip, hip, hip, hip hooray! Every single day is Christmas Day!
George Bluth Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor) has disappeared from the live works of art showing of the Sistine ceiling. A woman in the audience cries out “There is no god!”
The episode takes place at Christmas. You may not know it, but you should be watching this show. If you haven’t been, for god’s sake rent the first season DVDs as soon as possible.
Re. Arrested Development: I recommend the DVDs over watching on TV. There's a lot continuity between episodes and it is easier to enjoy if you watch them together. You can forget a lot in a week between one episode and the next.
I did watch that episode with my eyes, but it was *two* weeks ago, so you can't possibly expect me to remember any of it! :)
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (imortalized in Swingers)has a cover of the Heat/Cold miser song on their new X-Mas album. If you like lots of horns and modern swing music check them out. You are SO money.
It's the same episode where Tobias' "No-nude" psychological affliction is revealed, explaining the obsession with cut-off jeans. He mistakes George-Michaels' interest in the muscle suit, thinking that they both share the same aversion to taking off all their clothes.
