Google Video

Something you want to tell me about this little suitcase, freckles?

Google now does video searches of recent TV programs. I found the above image and text by searching “Lost” for suitcase. The text is from the captioning. Is there anything Google doesn’t do, or won’t do in the future?

No complaints here.

P.S. Anyone else notice that Kate gets soaking wet something like every other episode? Or is attacked by bees and forced to shed her clothing.

The mysteries of network television.

I like how you could comment on James' comment before he made it. You must be clairvoyant!

I had noticed that. She also seems to be the only one on the island who hasn't found anything but tight fitting clothes and tank tops. Even though she's probably the smallest one on the island.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the objectification of women!

Now, now. The world is working toward equal opportunity objectification. Women are still targeted more than more. It's more like the promotion of unrealistic standards of beauty in general.

I have to disagree. While we are all subjected to tigh-fitting tittie-enhancing T-shirts on women, think about this: When was the last time you saw pants on a man that were so tight you could count his pubes?

I would hate for my statements to be misconstrued. I _do not_ wish men were treated similarly. Objectification of the human body denigrates us as a species. Respect everyone equally, please.

i was about to say... to be fair it's not like they don't get at least one of the male characters shirtless at least once every episode.

Yes, but if we're talking parity, let's see one of the guys without any pants on.

I second the idea that I do not want to see Jack, Sawyer or any of the "Lost" men in panties of equivalent size or shape to what Kate seems to be wearing every other episode.

(As a straight male, I'm sure I don't speak for the women and gay men who are fans of "Lost")

I have to admit, I never thought that Kate might have found some other clothing. Of course, there is the chance that she hasn't wanted to wear large men's clothing on the island. How long have they been there - a few weeks now? 3, maybe? Time is moving more slowly there than it is here.

I'd say on the bimbofication scale, Kate's activities rate well below anything they did on the last 2 Star Trek spin of series. 7 of 9 and that Vulcan chick.. T'Pol?

All that said, in my 37 years on this Earth I have noticed that women strip down to their underwear more often on TV than they do in public.

But here is a question: does Kate's behavior count in any of all this. In other words, is she a sex object because of her looks, her dress and her presence on the show regardless of how her character acts?
