Fever, etc.

Due to illness, there isn’t going to be any Name That Movie this week. Sorry, folks. I’ve just gotten to the point where I am not delirious, and I plan to rest a bit.

You poor guy! Maggie mentioned to me that you were under the weather. I hope you feel better soon.

I played Name That Movie much of the weekend with the remote control and no TV Guide. I can live without it today. :) Hope you feel better soon.

Maybe you have a fever for the flavor of a Pringle.

Feel better soon James.

It is a nasty thing, Bri. Isn't it funny (odd) how these things get around? Well, I mean, I know how they get around, I just finished ranting to Chuck about it -- people go out when they're sick and spead the joy. But across the country, and I'll bet you did have the same bug. The principal at the elementary school called it "the cold that doesn't go away," but I think that's just because she felt it was inappropriate to say "the cold from hell." ;-)

I must get in a few wifely jibes at my husband, though. When I had this two weeks ago, I got "you complain a lot." Nothing's ever serious until he gets it. And when I made him some jell-o yesterday and it was still liquid when he wanted it, I got "are you sure you put in the right amount of water?" Yeah. But he did buy me a box of Kleenex when I was sick. And some Lindt balls (I was sick on Valentine's Day). So that was nice.

Maggie, tending to the sick can wear a person's patience quite thin. I hope you keep your sanity.

Don't give in to that small part of your deep deep deep inner self want to give him ipecac in his juice!

Hey, I never complain when I'm sick. I'm pretty sure I try you're patience more when I'm not sick!

Actually, I'm certain I try your patience more than you try mine.

You are very rarely sick. The year you had the flu, I knew you were in a bad way when I said "We're going to the hospital" and you didn't argue. Considering they X-rayed your chest, I believe I made the right call.

I think illness just magnifies the irritating traits your spouse has.

He does okay taking care of himself, and I really did feel sorry for him when he was delirious. The funny thing was when the phone rang and I was indisposed. M. picked it up, but rather than answering it, she carried it to me. It was too late by the time I got it; the person had hung up. I went into the bedroom and asked if he had heard of whatever the name was, and he said "No," and then told me he couldn't answer the phone. I said, "I didn't ask you to answer the phone, I just wondered if you knew who it was." M. came in and I said to her, "You should answer it next time, just press this button and say 'hello,'" and Mr. Delirious from the bed answers me "I can't answer the phone," and I snapped, "I'm not talking to you!" We got in the other room and M. said, "Don't yell at him, he's sick!"

Oh, brother. Time outs all around!

I bet it is the same cold, too. I had a fever and everything, and I never get a fever when I have my typical head cold. Sadly, I was as much a part of the problem. But what can you do when you can't work from home and you are getting pressure from all sides to meet a deadline?

Sorry to hear you were sick on VDay. I think the Lindt truffles were a sweet gift.

Isn't it funny how kids respond to the way you treat each other. Josh always yells at Lynnea if she is even a little cross with me or teases me in any way.
