Name That Movie 28

I have a feeling this one is going to be easy. But I never can tell.

As always, guesses in the comments. Don’t look if you think it might spoil your guessing. More clues revealed throughout the day (this one has 7).

Link to clue no. 1 broken. Wah.

This looks familiar. Hmm...

My wild guess is Misery.

Posted by: Mike at March 15, 2005 9:23 AM

I didn't see "Misery," but I will say this looks to me like a suspense/thriller/mystery movie.

Posted by: Patti M. at March 15, 2005 9:30 AM

I'll say it's The Punisher. Either version. Because I know I'm wrong. :)

Image 1: My guess is KILL BILL Part One.

Posted by: Chuck S. at March 15, 2005 10:40 AM

Image 2: Okay, now I'm even more sure that it is KILL BILL part one.

The first image is the window in Hanso's "apartment", in the fog on that window he writes "BILL" when Beatrix Kiddo hints at who she intends to kill with the sword she is asking him to make.

The second image is Lucy Liu's "secretary" talking on her cell phone in her car. There is a scene where Kiddo tails her to the restaraunt where she fights the Crazy Eighty Eight and Liu.

Is Chuck correct?

Clue 3 is up.

Posted by: James at March 15, 2005 11:48 AM

Chuck could be correct. If so that would make image #3 in Copperhead's house. The layout looks about right, though I don't remember that particular shot.

It's a great movie but I've only seen it the one time.

I think Chuck is correct, although I can't imagine how he got it on the first image. I don't think I'd have it from the 1st three but now that he's pointed it out he appears to be right.

Chuck you are getting too good at this.

I'm pretty sure that's Copperhead's kitchen viewed from above. I recall that in one scene she is standing in what is in this pic the top-right corner of that kitchen. The countertop is pretty distinctive. I suppose that could be the top of Vivica Fox's head we're looking down on. Isn't there a scene where she is walking around her place talking on the phone right before Kiddo shows up?

As far as how I got it from the first image, the window looked familiar, and I could see that one small pane had been brushed free of dust or fog by someone's finger. The last movie I remember seeing something like that happen was Kill Bill #1, and it is a fairly memorable.

Remember Hanso has given up making weapons. So many of his blades have ended so many lives that he has decided not to make any more. When he discovers that the weapon requested will be used to "Kill Bill", he comes out of retirement so it is an emotional scene for his character.

I continue to believe that this is Kill Bill 1.

It is, indeed Kill Bill. No denying it, now.

But for people avoiding the comments, I'll put up the rest of the links.

Great guessing, Chuck! I thought that first image, at Hattori Hanzo's attic might be a little too revealing. It is indeed where The Bride wipes out the name "Bill."

Chuck, I am in awe of your movie identification prowess!

Posted by: Patti M. at March 15, 2005 1:24 PM

Check out the second image, of Sophie Fatale, and its similarity to this image from a previous "Guess That Movie."

Tarantino likes these closeup-talking-lip-profile shots.

Posted by: James at March 15, 2005 1:27 PM

Got it on the first one. Didn't remember the scene for the second one until I read Chuck's comment.

Posted by: Pat at March 15, 2005 1:43 PM

The one image in the list I didn't recognize was number 4, probably a scene transition when Kiddo is travelling from one place to another.

If #4 had been #1, I wouldn't have been able to guess it on the first image.

Posted by: Chuck S. at March 15, 2005 1:55 PM

Hey, isn't that a picture from "Video Drome"?

Posted by: Patti M. at March 15, 2005 2:14 PM

I definately wouldn't have gotten this one until image 5.

Posted by: B.O.B.(bob) at March 15, 2005 2:40 PM

Apparently, my mistake was the order I chose. The big clue in image 4 is Beatrix Kiddo's name on the ticket, of which you can only see "Kid" - but it's obviously a ticket for a Japanese airline. You can see the beginning of "Okinawa" as well.

Posted by: James at March 15, 2005 3:07 PM

I wouldn't have gotten it until image 5 either.
