i don't know why, but i wanna say Jaws. This is just a gut feeling and i don't think is right. But for right now, i say Jaws.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels? Looks like it might be the French Riviera. Couldn't think of anything else that would fit.

Posted by: B.O.B.(bob) at March 29, 2005 9:25 AM

Older film (dig the colors), probably from the '60s. Panavision!

Posted by: Patti M. at March 29, 2005 9:50 AM

Blame it on Rio?
A Bond film of some sort?

Need more pictures.

Weekend at Bernie's?

Amygdala Jones and The Temple of Asphodel?

I'd second the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels guess - even though I don't think it's correct - just because it's a great movie.

I can go with the French Riviera thing, the second picture especially is obviously a valet leaning on a luxury car in front of a very, very expensive home or hotel. The fact that both his skin and his jacket are white tells me the movie is likely either much older or not set in the US (where the skin would be brown and the jacket would be red).

I'm stumped. Need more pictures. Either I've not seen this film or these are just not memorable scenes to me.

Sorry for the delay on image 3. Damn work!

Posted by: James at March 29, 2005 12:33 PM

I'm surprised no one has identified the actor in the second image. Anyone? Anyone?

Posted by: James at March 29, 2005 12:34 PM

The skinny strap of her bag, plus the poofiness of her hair and the size of the phone/walkie-talkie says 1980s to me.

Posted by: Patti M. at March 29, 2005 12:35 PM

The actor in image #2 looks like an old George C. Scott, but that can't be right.

Image #3 is looking like my favorite parts of the series Hart to Hart.

Clue 4 is up!

Next clue around 2 (or just after if I have stepped out of the office -- check my away message)

Posted by: James at March 29, 2005 1:19 PM

The actor from image two doesn't look familiar bu the guy from the 1st image does. he's a British actor. I think I've seen him in a Mystery. Don't know his name though.

Posted by: B.O.B.(bob) at March 29, 2005 1:31 PM

I'm pretty sure this is Dirty Rotten Scoundrels as well. That does look like the Riviera in image 1 and the guy there looks like Michael Caine's accomplice.

Off the wall wild-ass guess:

The Omen

Posted by: Chuck S. at March 29, 2005 1:35 PM

Okay, I cheated and read the other comments.

I've seen Dirty Rotten Scroundrels once or twice, and I can neither confirm nor deny that this is it. However, were I to metagame a bit, I can say quite emphatically that James really likes that movie, particularly Steve Martin as "Ruprecht"... so it is a reasonable choice.

Damn my failing memory! Why won't any of these images ring a bell?

Posted by: Chuck S. at March 29, 2005 1:54 PM

Yeah, I remembered he liked that movie too.

Take another look at image #4. You should recognize someone there.

Posted by: Mike at March 29, 2005 2:04 PM

Definitely not "The Omen." I don't remember a cruise ship in that movie.

Lord, clue no. 5 makes me think '50s! I give up!

Posted by: Patti M. at March 29, 2005 2:05 PM

Mike, re: clue no. 4--is that former Olympic champion Bart Connors?

Just kidding--face is too narrow.

Posted by: Patti M. at March 29, 2005 2:06 PM

Well Patti you've guessed most of the past 5 decades now.

It's definately DRS, Those are Michael Caine and Steve Martin's backs.

Of course last time I though I was definately right I turned out to be absolutely wrong so we'll see if I do better this time.

Posted by: B.O.B.(bob) at March 29, 2005 2:18 PM

Okay, that's Steve Martin and Michael Caine with their backs to the camera.

So that must have been Steve Martin in image #4, although it didn't look like him to me.

So it *is* Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. WTG B.O.B. ... first image!

Posted by: Chuck S. at March 29, 2005 2:18 PM

Bob, it would behoove you to remember with whom you live.

Posted by: Patti M. at March 29, 2005 2:35 PM

Hey it's Dr. Crusher. This must be a Star Trek movie! I didn't know Steve Martin was in a Star Trek!

Posted by: B.O.B.(bob) at March 29, 2005 3:35 PM

In reality, it's confirmaiton that B.O.B. got it in 1 this week!

Great work, Bob.

It is, indeed Dirty, Rotten Scoundrels.

Good movie. Very funny. Just ask Lady Fanny from Omaha or Ruprecht. :D

Posted by: James at March 29, 2005 3:50 PM

The actor in picture #2 looks like Ian McDiarmid from Star Wars fame (Palpatine)

Posted by: Slacker at April 22, 2005 11:17 AM

It is Ian McDiarmid! Good eye.

Posted by: James at April 22, 2005 11:28 AM

I'm horrified that I didn't recognize him.

Posted by: Darth Julie at April 22, 2005 11:43 AM

Obviously it's "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" with great Steve Martin as a Ruprecht!!!
Mother? Not Mother?
