Ezekiel saw a link.
This is the link he said he saw.
These are links that people say they are seeing now.
Are they proof that we are being visited by civilizations from other stars?
Or just what are they?
The Aces Full of Links team began an investigation of this high strangeness in a search for the truth.
What you are about to see is part of that 20 year search.
I was just reading about this exact thing (homemade baby wipes)in 1 of the baby books I bought for my brother and his fiance.
I don't know how gentle Dr.Bronner's castile soap is, or how gentle baby soap needs to be for that matter, but they make a lemon scented one. Their baby formulas only come in unscented or aloe.
I hope I make a good aunt. Luckily, I have several months to work on it.
Posted by: Sharon at June 24, 2005 10:00 AMHeh. Who knew laundry detergent, dish soap and hair gel expired? Not me! I never stopped to think how old that stuff was. I guess I have some clearing out to do.
Posted by: Sharon at June 24, 2005 10:09 AMExpiration is somewhat of a fuzzy concept as well. For instance, bleach may be "less effective" after a year, but might still be strong enough to cause serious havoc on your favorite T-shirt if you should have an accidental spill.
Posted by: James at June 24, 2005 10:35 AMI wouldn't worry too much about expiration dates unless its a food or drug product. An 80% bleach solutions going to work just as well as a 100% bleach solution. Is the shampoo still cleaning your hair? Chances are old shampoo isn't going to hurt you in any way just not work as well as it did brand new.
Even drugs and food can safely be used beyond their expiries. the question is how much beyond. In the case of food and drugs you could be hurt by some of the byproducts of breakdown. I would have no problem taking Advil 2 years beyond it's expiry. I just wouldn't expect it to work as well.
Posted by: B.O.B.(bob) at June 24, 2005 10:41 AMI dunno, BOB. I'm pretty sure that we're using the current president beyond his expiration date, and that's definitely no good.
I could have sworn that crappy presidents have an expiry date of 4 years.
Posted by: James at June 24, 2005 10:59 AMDr. B's Castile soap is made from olive oil (I believe) and thus should be pretty mild.
Sometimes you find castile soap that's made from coconut oil instead (Kirk's Castile). That is a lot harsher.
Dilute! Dilute! OK!!
Posted by: Julie at June 24, 2005 11:30 AMI remember reading about Dr. Bronner's soap long before I ever saw a bottle. It was in one of those weird "Big Secrets" books I used to read, because they were intrigued by the odd writing on the label.
Later, I encountered one of the bottles of soap in a store (EMS?) and had fun reading what seemed like rantings. But most of it was really good natured stuff about togetherness and humankind.
In any case, now I want to get myself some of the lemon soap and try making my own moist wipes. Just for the fun of it. We don't have babies anymore, but we do use hand wipes all the time when other hand washing is not convenient. (They're an essential item in my car's readiness pack, especially useful when you have to clean your hands after touching engine parts or whatever and you're not near a restroom.)
Posted by: James at June 24, 2005 12:01 PMNow I remember! I read that stuff in a Straight Dope book.
You can also visit the company's website.
Posted by: James at June 24, 2005 12:02 PMBTW - if Katie Holmes wears grapefruit-scented body oil, will Tom Cruise be arrested?
A puzzler.
Posted by: James at June 24, 2005 12:04 PMI believe Katie H. is 26, so she'd still be legal in every state. However, Tom Cruise will always be annoying.
