No Name That Movie

There is no name that movie this week.

I am no longer considering it a regular feature.

Name That Movie has had the strong sense of boredom (mine for certain and possibly yours) hovering over it for weeks now. Boredom from lack of creativity, boredom from repetition.

I’m planning to either alter it radically or do away with it entirely.

This week, I’m just short on time because of work and other obligations. This summer has been a mess of scheduling and time becomes more precious.

If I find a movie that I think I’ll get a kick out of doing, you’ll see another NTM. If not…

See you in the funny pages with more original content.

Damn! I loved NTM. Oh well.

It's not gone for good. It's gone for this week and may return sporadically.

However, I'd love to replace it with something better.

Bummer. NTM must have been a lot of work so thanks for doing it as long as you did.

How about "Name That Exorbitantly Large Sum of Money That James Will Give You For Free"?

I like that one.

"One MILLION dollars!"

Thanks for doing NTM as long as you did. It *is* a lot of work, and if you're not having fun with it, by all means don't knock yourself out. ULev is going to go to NTM#50 and then I'll probably make it a sporadic feature as well.

"One Million Dollars?"

That's not a very creative name for a large sum of money. See, this is what I was trying to avoid. Boring.

"Cecil" -- now that's an unusual name for a large sum of money. "Westeffersoon." "Grapostulinum."

I think a million dollars would be fine.

You people are easily amused. No wonder you keep coming back to my weblog.

Damn, I love NTM. I would do one myself but

a) I have no DVD drive and
b) James would get them all since he's on my Netflix friends list.

Anywho, James, did you get my email the other day about the upcoming game?

I'll guess Planet of the Apes.

Posted by: briwei at July 19, 2005 7:58 PM

The original? Or the Tim Burton remake?

Posted by: Julie at July 19, 2005 8:08 PM

Thanks to everyone who played, and congratulations to Brian even though he didn't get it.

It was the 1975 A Boy and His Dog starring Don Johnson.

I'm thinking of a movie between 1 and 10...

oh, damn! Did that give it away?

Posted by: Maggie at July 20, 2005 7:36 AM

9 to 5?

War Games

Must be a 007 flick.

Posted by: Mike at July 20, 2005 8:10 AM

I'm guessing it's a movie from the '70s, based on the bad fashion. Dog Day Afternoon?

Posted by: Patti M. at July 20, 2005 8:56 AM

I don't like Don Johnson. But I like grapes.

Stroker Ace

Lots of good guesses this week. I'm still going with my usual "I got nuthin'" :)
