Yellow Catterpillar

Yellow Catterpillar

Check out his defensive markings, like the big fake eye.

We certainly do have an impressive variety where we work. That's why I try to stop and appreciate it once in a while.

The camera helps. I can't really stare at the caterpillars for long when I'm on my way in, but I can take a picture and reflect more later.

BTW - not only was this gut beautiful, but he was moving at a pretty good clip when I took this photo. It took me about 5 attempts to get a good shot and I had to keep moving back because of his crawling speed.

We ran across these fellows the last time we were in St Croix. About 6" long.
