Fortune Cookie Housecleaning

I was looking through the pantry today and found some old fortune cookies. I was considering giving them to M for her lunch snack, but worried that they were stale.

So I opened one of them to taste it. It wasn’t as crunchy as it ought to have been, though it tasted fine. Then I read the fortune.

Cleaning up the past will always clear up the future!

So I threw them all away.

In BED... IN BED. I think it meant you were supposed to sort that pile of your laundry that I dumped on the BED.

My crazy project at work is driving me nuts. The project is supposed to be over (I have a new customer now) but the old customer won't stop trying to get us to fix their bugs for them.

I'm continuing to answer their requests as politely and usefully as possible, but my coworkers have been saying I'm doing too much for them.

So then yesterday me and the team on the old project went out for a "last project lunch" at a local Chinese restaurant.

My fortune?

Your infinite capacity for patience will be rewarded sooner or later.

LOL.

You probably are doing too much for them.

Sometimes, people just need to move on. You need to break up with them. :)

I wonder if anyone has actually learned Chinese from fortune cookies.

(Is "Chinese" even a language? Or are there two distinct languages spoken in the country, Mandarin and Cantonese?)

I think there are even more than Mandarin and Cantonese. Mandarin is the "official" language, though.

I don't get Mike's lucky numbers joke. :(

Mike's making a joke about the mysterious Lost numbers.

Dude, lighten up.

My father got a fortune cookie without a fortune. True to his My Big Fat Greek Wedding roots, he took it as an omen that he would die.

(sigh)
