Gold Tooth Shotgun

Here are your links for the week. It's fun!

  1. Media Convert - free and on line - convert and split sound, ringtones, images, docs

Free online conversion from one file format to another. Pick what you want it converted TO and just find the file on your hard drive. Handy!

  2. Car Winterizing: Inside and Out

Some tips for getting your car ready for winter. Hey, it's autumn; this is the time ot start getting ready!

  3. Tip 18 (Chain Pod)

Do you use a point-and-shoot camera that doesn't have image stabilization? Look at the tip for a "Chain pod" in this "Cool Tools" post. I am definitely going to make one of these dead-simple portable stabilization helpers.

  4. Elevator Floor Illusion

Someone doesn't want to to get too comfortable in this elevator.

  5. YouTube - White and Nerdy

Oh man. Mike had this in his linkblog. It's Weird Al's new video "White and Nerdy." Hitting close to home.

  6. ExploreNewEngland.com - Fall foliage - Travel

Check out when the peak foliage hits your area, or other areas you like to visit. Don't live in New England? Then this will help you plan what weekend you're going to visit.

  7. Welcome to Haunted Newport!

On the run-up to Halloween, here are some fun, spooky things to do in Newport. It's a community-wide celebration of creepiness. I want to do some of these things for my birthday!

  8. Darfur Scorecard

What is the record of your representatives on policy toward Darfur?

Gold tooth? Does that mean you went to see Dr. Crentist?

Posted by: Julie at October 6, 2006 2:44 PM

I, too, am white and nerdy. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Yes, I saw Dr. Crentist and I am now part-machine. And the machine part is gold.

Bless you for your concern for Darfur.
Several of us have decided to begin a RESCUE DARFUR FAST. One of us began 5 days ago, and several others today. Links below for the details.
Nothing less than a worldwide fast-until-the-genocide-stops will be enough to stop it.
Nothing less will be a sufficient moral response.
Nothing less will preserve our humanity, yours and mine.

Oooooh. Lots of good stuff this week. I particularly like the chain pod and media convert.

I'm glad to see the Darfur scorceard, but found very few surprises there. I think the Republican party positions over the life of this administration have all been based on the belief that "G-d hates brown people." We have Darfur, our treatment of illegal hispanics, the entirety of the Muslim world...

Our representation on Darfur: in the Senate A+ and A+. In the House A.

I was remarking ot friedns that it is a tough scorecard. McGovern got himself arrested at a Darfur rally and didn't get an A+. :)

In any case, our leaders here in MA have gotten the message on Darfur. If your reps are less active then that means you can make more of a difference by contacting them wiht your concern.

My access to my representative is somewhat limited. That can happen when you are the only person booing him at a public event. Calling him a crook and telling him to go back to his home district seem to compound the problem.
