Would You Rather?

You’re in a waiting room.

Would you rather be sitting next to…

  1. someone who goes on and on and on about how sad she is about Anna Nicole Smith’s recent demise. Or
  2. someone who goes on and on and on about how Deval Patrick won’t make Ronald Reagan’s birthday a holiday.

Which of these brain-drain soul-sucking situations would you rather be in?

I think I would find #1 more pathetic, but less offensive since at least I'd be sitting next to a sympathetic sort of person.

Either way, however, the actual doctor's visit and ensuing medical procedure, if any, would seem less upsetting by comparison.

Considering I am living through a version of #1 now in my office, I choose that as I have been successful in ignoring it.

#2 would probably get me into a fight.

Oh, and by the way, this illustrates perfectly the reason why I always take a book with me to any appointment.

The doctor/dentist/chakra manipulator will always be late. Arm yourself with a good book and you'll be far less angry than if you're just sitting there and staring at your watch.

I'd much rather hear #1 ...

But #2 will be the topic during my 5 o'clock hour.

I'm laughing at #2. James and I heard Barry foaming at the mouth over it this morning. Do people really want Massachusetts state workers to take another holiday? I can't believe that. Don't we already have a President's day? And we should single Reagan out... why?

I think the question is, who would give me the most interesting information to blog about? And I think it's the foaming at the mouth Reagan guy (plus nobody's said that yet), if I could just grit my teeth through his arguments. So I'll take him. The A.N.S. person sounds less irritating, but I think I would get really, really tired of the lack of depth, so they're both pretty painful.

Ah, yes. Reganomics. Trickle-down ecomonics.

Mhm. I am still waiting for my mink coat to trickle down.

I used to ask why on earth we would honor a man who gave this country the largest national debt it had ever seen...then we got Bush.

Reagan definitely wins the "Not-George-W.-Bush" award. But then, so do I.

I'll choose #1.

Doesn't much matter. I'm turning up the volume on my DS if they don't STFU

Anna Nicole

Secretly, I've been avidly keeping up with the whole Anna mess. Yes, I know. Yes, I HAVE been thinking of getting a life, thanks for asking.

K volunteered, while we were listening to the radio: "How about a national day of mourning. G.W. Bush Day."

LOL! Go, K! I'd go with the second one as well.
