Yes, yes - I know it’s a Tuesday. But it’s a Monday schedule at the university. That means you have to have your Monday classes, eat your lunch like it’s a Monday and complain like it’s a Monday.
Also, you get a “Would You Rather.”
Suddenly, your ability to read is severely impaired. You can only read a few words at a sitting in the normal way (enough to handle a highway sign or a couple of short emails) but your ability to read and comprehend books is curtailed.
But your strange disorder comes with one benefit. You can do one of the following things, which will allow you to gain and retain all the information in any book.
Would you rather absorb the information from books by:
Can I cover the book in BBQ sauce before I lick it? Cuz if so, I think you have your answer.

Posted by: ryan at February 20, 2007 10:28 AMTo quote from Weird Al's list of horrors that he would rather endure than spend one more minute with his ex-love, "I would rather get a hundred thousand paper cuts on my face," only make that the tongue... yikes!
I will strap it to my head.
Posted by: Maggie at February 20, 2007 10:38 AMStrap it on.
Posted by: Julie at February 20, 2007 10:46 AMI would choose to read by licking.
I would only "read" cookbooks and beer recipes.
This is assuming I get to taste what I read.
Posted by: Derek at February 20, 2007 11:12 AMUmmm... What was the question again?
Posted by: Mike at February 20, 2007 11:13 AMWhat about reading my monitor? (and hence your blog) I'd look even funnier with a monitor strapped to my head for 12 hours... Although, maybe it'd be a good excuse to go out and by a flat panel monitor... What about licking the monitor... I'd have to totally enclose my cube as if my coworkers saw me licking my monitor they'd think I'm wierd... well wierder than they already think I am ;)
So I am totally not able to make a decision ... It'd literally come to a coin flip on this one...
Posted by: Hooligan at February 20, 2007 1:50 PMLicking weird surfaces is a great way to get sick. I'll go with the "strapped to the head" option.
Posted by: Chuck S. at February 20, 2007 2:56 PMStrapped to the head. I doubt I could read through, much less retain, some of the technical books I have needed to read in under 12 hours. So, this would be an added benefit.
The computer screen problem is a conundrum, though.

Id take the strapped to the head option. I work at home, so I wouldnt have to face any co-workers derision.
