There’s no shotgun post this week. I was up until 5 writing for a proposal, and now I have to add more to it, and then cut it back down by about 80%.
Instead, here’s a little game to play. If you’ve been watching the World Series on Fox, what’s the most annoying advertisement you’ve had to watch over and over again?
Or maybe you find it annoying that they turned the Red Sox into a Taco Bell commercial. Or maybe you actually appreciate that Jacoby Ellsbury won the country a free taco for next Tuesday afternoon. Or maybe one of the other ads annoyed you over and over again.
You tell me.

My habit of walking into the living room to see a replay of a great play I heard on the radio means that I missed all the TV commercials. Suck it, FOX.
Posted by: Mike at October 26, 2007 11:17 AMSo this means we're doing the shotgun post this week? Okay:
Portal: The Flash Version - Same concept as the fancy 3D game but this one is in glorious 2D. Quite fun.
copper - Gorgeous and sublime webcomic, painstakingly drawn and posted once a month. I'm now a big fan.
iSketch - Sort of a 'net version of Pictionary. Don't worry if you can't draw well, 90% of the people there (including me) can't either.
Posted by: Mike at October 26, 2007 11:23 AMI haven't been watching the World Series. The ALCS was exciting, but the World Series just seems like a foregone conclusion.
However, I'd say that "numero uno" guy is the most annoying. I don't remember the Chevy commercial and at least the Taco Bell commercial has a hot chick and a dog.
Posted by: David Grenier at October 26, 2007 11:31 AMI haven't been seeing all of the commercials during the game. Whenever possible, I change channels to peek at something else (catfight on telenovela, news, etc.), or watch part of something else I've recorded but not seen (The Office).
I have seen the first two commercials. The numero uno one doesn't bother me much (it would have been funnier if I had only seen it once). The lady running into the car ad is so boring I'd like to hit the person who thought it would be a good idea to run it three times per commercial break, but there's a much funnier version of the ad where the dull car is used as a getaway during a bank robbery.
Believe it or not, I haven't seen the taco hell ad at all. Either that or it was so dull it completely slipped my mind. Also, I tend to go deaf whenever someone says "rule."
I was annoyed by those "actober" ads with Dane Cook, but haven't seen one in a while. I still don't know wtf "actober" is. Is it some kind of pun?
Posted by: Julie at October 26, 2007 11:33 AMDane Cook ads are still there. I don't find any of the commercials funny, just freakin' annoying, and I can't understand how anyone could think a selfish jerk who lies to his kids and his wife is funny. (Wife maybe, but kids? What an a-hole.) But then, I've been pummeled by this crap over and over. I don't watch, I have a book for commercials, but I can still hear it. Ugh.

Posted by: Julie at October 26, 2007 1:46 PMI find 'numero uno' guy the most annoying. At least I can laugh at the woman running into a car and luckily, I've just zoned out for the taco bell commercials.
Posted by: Sara at October 26, 2007 3:06 PMThat animation video was something, wasn't it? I think someone is a fan of Terry Gilliam!
Posted by: Patti M. at October 26, 2007 3:08 PMDefinitely "The “I keep running into a car” woman from Chevrolet".
Posted by: Patty S. at October 26, 2007 4:44 PMSoon there'll be a commercial you *can't* ignore!
**BANG!** (Shoots TV)
Posted by: James at October 26, 2007 5:04 PMHow about the way they flash "Transformers" before certain breaks in the action? Fox has been throwing more of those little ad animations in lately and I find them more annoying than any regular commercial.
Posted by: Pat at October 26, 2007 6:37 PMI guess we all have different things that annoy us. I shout "Transformers" every time they do it, because it feels like some weird pseudo-subliminal message and it strikes me as funny. I guess I need to find ways to make the other commercials amuse me, but they're so darn long. If they were my commercials, the little dog would drive the Malibu over "Numero Uno" and the semi-80's uncool master. Maybe even the brother, just for being there so the idiot can talk.
