I'll say win the academy award. People already think of me as nice and decent (they're wrong of course but that's how they think of me) and it's overrated.

I assume they are mutually exclusive, so if you're winning the academy award, people think of you some other way. Does it mean you're not nice and decent, or just that people don't think of you that way? Maybe they think of you as hard-working and talented, but you also happen to be nice and decent.

I guess I'm overanalyzing it because neither option particularly appeals to me.

I'll take "nice and decent," as long as people also think of me as "terrifying" and "a force to reckoned with."

Ha! It's tough to shake that decent reputation once it's stuck to you.

On the other hand it allows you to get away with things that others can't.

I'll take the statue. You can fool some of the people all of...er...you can fool..you...you can't get fooled again.

And the list of people he has snookered is pretty long.

I care so little about the awards now that I can't imagine what I would do with one.

Of course, I might be more interested if I were actually working in the entertainment business.

OK, seriously, one is a professional achievement while the other is a personal one, so it's difficult to compare. Professionally, I'd rather work steadily than have a statue and no job. Personally, I'd rather be known as a decent person than be an asshole with a Good Citizenship award. So I guess the dumb statuette loses out either way.

However, it would be an honor to be nominated if it meant I could get one of those goodie bags.

I think I would prefer the latter.

The opinions of the cool and popular kids never amounted to a squirt of pee-pee in my book, so an academy award voted me by my peers of cool and popular kids is like being awarded a giant gold squirt of pee-pee.

I'd rather be known as nice and decent.

But it's a SOLID gold squirt of pee. That has to count for something.

If you had the statue, you could auction it off for lots of money and then steal it back from a hotel in Las Vegas... or is that a different kind of statue?
