Museum Nostalgia

Summer is coming, and that usually means a lot of museum visits for us. But I fear we might be cutting back on some of our summertime adventures because of increases in gas prices.

When I was my daughters' ages, this is what kids in Massachusetts thought of when someone mentioned the science museum and the aquarium:

Nostalgia!

I think (hope) my kids still think of them that way! I'm chaperoning Julie's kindergarten field trip to the Aquarium in a few weeks.

Amazing. I could still recite the Museum of Science commercial word for word...

I could still sing you the commercial from the Lincoln Park ad ("it's fun-tastic!"), but I barely remember these ads. The only part of the MoS ad that rang a bell was the girl saying "my name is Karen." Funny how that stuck in my mind.

I don't remember the Aquarium ad at all, but I do remember that haircut.

I remember both of these commercials. Thanks for the memories, James.

Total flashback moment. Sweet!

Wow, I CANNOT believe those commercials were that long ago -- they are etched in my brain. How many times did I see them for them to be so memorable? Wow!

I think I know why I don't remember these ads so well. The minute they came on, I ran out of the room yelling "Mom! Mom! Can we go? Can we go? Please? Dad? Can we go? Mom? Please? Can we?"

LOL, Julie. I'll take you. ;-)
