The Bock Is Back
I first mentioned it on this blog almost three years ago. It was tough to find, but a little help from the liquor store connections and I eventially got my hands on a few bottles.
It's the magically delicious Sam Adams Chocolate Bock.
They're finally making it again. Perhaps my occasional weepy phonecalls made an impression on someone.
In any case, this is what I'll be drinking on January 20, 2009.

Ah - there's something I've never done. I've always had a special dinner on election night, but never on inauguration day. I wasn't in the habit yet in 1993, and in 2001 I spent the day in bed crying. Think I'll try something different this time! Hmm, what to eat, what to drink...
Enjoy your beer, buddy! :-)
Are others planning on taking the day off? I intend to and Patti and I were thinking of having some sort of get together but since it's on a Tuesday weren't sure of the turnout.
It's on a Tuesday? Hmmm. I wasn't planning to take the day off, because for some reason I was thinking it was a Saturday... but yes, I think I could do that, as long as it involves driving up during the day and not at night. (Going home in the dark isn't a problem.)
My children have school. The day prior is MLK day.
By the way - thanks to Derek and Mike for being my beer lookout guys. I probably ought to have had a Google Alert set for "Chocolate Bock" but with alert and thoughtful friends, you don't need a Google alert.
Thanks for the tip, James...I'll be on the lookout here...
James, I predict this will taste even better when you drink it on Innauguration Day.
I've never taken Innauguration Day off, but I feel compelled to watch this one. I also feel like celebrating!
